Full loadouts as below and instructions for setting them in the order they appear in the controls screen. So on the right hand I have pitch/roll/yaw and on the left hand thrust forward-back/left-right/up-down. You only need to use the throttle when running or chasing. simply set the throttle in the middle of the blue and in combat control your forward/back speed with the thrusters. I use TWO Logitech Extreme 3D pros! The reason for this is that throttle control IMHO in this game is secondary to thruster control. You have this wrong, what you need to do is think BIG! Good luck, and you'll figure it out once things start to click. The rest of your setup will depend on your playstyle. I have it set up to navigate my menus directionally, but when fighting it will use thrust. I use my hat switch while flying in a couple of ways. Then assign the two left thumb buttons as thrust up and thrust down. Make the hat thrust forward, back, left right. So you can assign your hat switch to override while landing. The docking override controls only work when your landing gear is out. Use the X axis for pitch, the y for roll, and the twist (I forget the label) for yaw. The separate assignments are for non-joysticks and wont have the analog functionality. I'll explain my basics and you can go from there.įirstly, when setting up your steering (pitch, roll, yaw), make sure you use the axis assignment and NOT the separate axis assignments below it.

The joystick is plug and play, so you don't need to set it up through logitech's software in Win7. I was a little overwhelmed at first, too. I'd like a joystick that doesn't drift and where all the buttons reactwithout pressing hard really but hey, this one works well enough I'd like a fancy hotas setup and one day I'll get one. I use it for trading, combat and exploration and so far it's worked well for me. I also have my numeric pad mapped to thrusters and the insert/del group mapped to (next/prev) target, subsystem and hostile.Īnd that's most of my mapping tbh. cargo scoop I thinkġ2 - throttle reverse (sets the throttle to reverse while you hold down the button, generally I tend to uyse a keyboard key to thurst backwards on the odd time I need it) Hat switch when landing gear is down - thrusters up/down/left/rightĩ - landing gear I think (I'm 1500ly from the core, I've not landed in a whileġ0 - can't remember. Hat switch - power config (eng/weap/sys/reset) Throttle - throttle forward only (no middle detente) over time you'll learn what you prefer and you'll adapt it to your needs.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I use an old logitech extreme 3d pro (which does drift a bit I must admit) and this is how I have it configured.
